TAG Company launches RFID solution for early detection of bulk thefts

July 15th 2015 - London, UK – TAG Company develops RFID based system to alert staff to incidents of bulk theft occurring within retail.

TAG Company (UK) Ltd, a leading UK based provider of EAS & RFID products and services to retail, launches its EDS technology, designed to alert security staff to a potential bulk thefts. Whilst conventional EAS offers a strong deterrent against casual theft, incidents of bulk theft present a huge financial risk to retailers of high value goods.

TAG's EDS (Early Detection System) Technology has been used by a leading UK supermarket to identify if 10 or more bottles of spirits, protected with an RFID Bottle Tag, have been taken from the wines and spirits aisle at any one time. A silent alarm is then sent to the security guard at the store exit who can then be alert to a bulk theft taking place.

The EDS technology can be used to create protected zones anywhere in a large retail space with the installation of ceiling mounted RFID antenna and driven by firmware, meaning no connectivity to the store’s IT infrastructure is required. Compatible Hard Tags and Labels solutions are available for all merchandise categories making it ideal for large department stores.
