TAG Company completes swift upgrade of EAS in new HMV stores

15th May, 2009, Middlesex - TAG Company UK has completed a 19 store programme to upgrade the EAS and product protection within the new HMV stores - formerly operated by Zavvi.  The roll-out was carried out in line with HMV's aggressive turn-round programme for these stores.  The programme involved installation of EAS antenna, Deactivators and Detachers.  In addition, all stores have been installed with loop alarm technology to protect demonstration stock.

TAG Company has partnered with HMV for almost 10 years - initially with deployment of the patented Self Seal Tag range.  There then followed an estate wide roll-out of RedTag, and finally TAG being appointed HMV's sole supplier for the supply and maintenance of HMV's full EAS estate.

The key element in the HMV-TAG business is the relationship aspect of the partnership. This comes to the fore when there is a need for immediate and substantial support. It was critical for HMV to have these new stores trading under the HMV banner with the shortest period of down time. TAG's service commitment is vital in the relationship. It enables a consultative approach and has lead to a level of trust whereby the key Service Engineer for the account can audit the stores and identify the stores needs without having to arrange on site manager visits etc.

For new stores and refits, TAG offers a full turn key project management service which assists in removing the micro-management of contractors.  TAG's Service team ensure the design, implementation, installation and then maintenance of the full estate is taken care of to the level that a fast moving major retailer such as HMV demands. This has meant that TAG works closely with HMV's other partners: most importantly HMV's principle contractors.

Once the store is fully trading, an additional benefit TAG offers is the service Level: TAG provides a dedicated EAS Help Desk to help drive compliance within stores, and reduce unnecessary engineer call-outs.  The First Line Response (FLR) solves around 25% of EAS related service calls thus saving the customer the cost of sending out an engineer.  The response time is aimed at having an engineer on site within 48 hours, and service history shows a specialised EAS engineer is generally on site within 24hours.   

All these aspects contribute to why HMV and TAG's relationship has gone from strength to strength over the past decade.
